About Me

Dr. Racherla is the Gene Edwards Professor of Banking and Assistant Professor of Marketing at College of Business, West Texas A&M University. He earned a Ph.D. in business administration from the Fox School of Business, Temple University. He has an M.B.A. in management and marketing from SSIHL University, India. He worked as a channel partner for a major environmental and energy equipment firm in India prior to joining the PhD program at Temple University.

Dr. Racherla’s research interests include consumer generated media, social networks, online word-of-mouth and collaborative systems. He has authored several research papers and technical reports that have been published or forthcoming in prestigious journals such as Information Systems Research, Electronic Commerce Research & Applications, Journal of Consumer Behavior, Journal of Marketing & Management, Journal of Management Information Systems, Annals of Tourism Research and Cornell Hospitality Quarterly. He has presented at several conferences, both nationally and internationally including AMA Summer Ed, Academy of Marketing Science, Decision Sciences Institute, ICIS, and ICHRIE.

Dr. Racherla has received several awards and honors for his research including best paper award at ICHRIE conference, best paper nomination at HICSS and recognition for best doctoral researcher award at Fox Business School.More recently, he was recognized with the West Texas A&M University Research excellence award and the Texas A&M system teaching excellence award, a competitive program that covers instructors across eleven Texas A&M schools.
